A movie star actress and activist, Iyabo Ojo, aka Queen Mother, took to her page to criticise her millions of fans and followers, drawing comparisons between them and the Nigerian government.

The movie star, who has been abroad for a few days, took to her Instagram page to vent her ire at her fans for their apparent affection. She said that they are misrepresenting her and doubting her actions, much like the Nigerian government, and that if they truly love her, they should subscribe to her YouTube channel.

She stated: “Hello Nigeria, I do land. First of all, I wan para for una way dey show me fake love o. Una dey deceive me like Nigeria government, wetin I do una.

Iyabo Ojo’s letter to the president regarding the end of the bad governance protests last week sparked debate online. The President had been called out by the activist, who said that his silence was depressing and deafening.

According to Iyabo, the president must speak to the people, hear their complaints, and provide hope. If people can’t voice their concerns and be heard, she wondered if democracy is really about and for the people.
