The late popular Islamic Singer Rukayat Gawat Oyefeso first Son Ibrahim Oyefeso mourned the death of his caring and loving Mother.
The singer answered the call of her creator on Tuesday 24 September 2024 and was buried not long after she passed away.
A few hours ago insidenaija posted the news, which was announced on social media by preacher Alfa Aribidesi At-Tawdeeh Islamic Da’awah, based in Ilorin.
The singer was the subject of an earlier Tuesday Solatul Janazzah (Prayer for the Dead) in Ojota, Lagos State, according to Punch Newspaper.
But at midday, the last prayer and burial took place in her husband’s town of Ijebu Aiyepe, Ogun State, and social media users were moved by a video that captured the ritual.
In the video, a large group of those grieving, primarily relatives and friends, could be seen encircling the singer’s grave.
On Tuesday morning, Jubril Gawat, the brother of the deceased who is a Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, shared a passage from the Quran on his X account.
His post read, “Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.” Q 2 V 156.
